…between the sapphire sea below and the cerulian sky above…
Emerald Hotel is set high up on the cliff-side of Plaka village of Apokoronas in Chania – just a 25 minute drive from Chania centre and it’s must see old Venetian harbor. With 11 spacious apartments (each with a separate bedroom), a snack / cafe-bar open terrace area and a large swimming pool (80sqm), Emerald Hotel is just the place to relax and unwind; open each year from 1 April to 31 October.
The views from Emerald Hotel are both to the sea (to the village of Almyrida and beyond) and to the White Mountains – simply breathtaking. These same views can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own self-catering apartment. Equipped with a kitchen, the apartments are spacious, practical and perfectly functional. The large swimming pool also has a shallow section for children (0.80cm -2.4m depth). Trees, plants and flowers surround the hotel and give it a home-like feel to it. Focusing on families with children, Emerald Hotel has also added a new (in 2010) children’s playground.
Nearby, there are several beaches, archaeological and historical sites, churches, gorges and traditional villages for you to visit. In Almyrida village (a 5 minute drive from Emerald Hotel) you will easily find any convenience you may be looking for (supermarkets, ATM, car/bike rental companies, foreign exchange, pharmacies, cafes, bars, restaurants and taverns etc).
We, the owners of Emerald Hotel (family run) look forward to having you stay with us and to making your visit to Crete an unforgettable one!

We have just stayed a week in this lovely little hotel and wished it had been longer. The view at breakfast and the good service by Manos cannot be beaten. If you wish to stay and dine in the evening under the stars and vine leaves Constantinos will prepare you the most lovely dishes, if…
Costas and Esmeralda have given this beautiful place a facelift since I last came here 18 years ago when Esmeralda and Spiros’ parents ran it. It was lovely then, but now has a more up to date feel and still has the best views in the whole Kalyves bay area.
Very nice and quite hotel. The vote was excellent and the staff was really nice. A couple of small shops nearby. Easy to park rental car near the hotel and pool was very nice. The hotel has one restaurant with nice view, we never are there, but the good looked nice.
